一、入学申请
学校通过国际教育学院官网、微信公众号等平台发布招生简章，明确申请条件、流程、考核要求及时间安排。
申请人根据招生简章要求将全部入学申请材料发送至is@imust.edu.cn，同一申请人仅可申请一个修读专业，不得重复申请，申请截止日期为每年6月30日（各类奖学金申请者按照相关规定执行）。
（一）申请条件
1.持有效外国普通护照的非中国籍公民。
2.身心健康（无传染病和影响正常学习的身体或精神疾患）、品学兼优、对华友好、无违法犯罪记录。
3.本科生申请人年龄在18至25周岁之间，且已完成高中学业；硕士研究生年龄一般不超过35周岁，并获得学士学位；博士研究生年龄一般不超过40周岁（有一定工作经验和学术研究能力者，年龄可适当放宽），并获得硕士学位。
4.汉语水平需达到HSK四级及以上。未通过者须参加一年语言预科班学习，达到语言要求后方可进入专业学习。
（二）申请材料
1.普通护照个人信息页和护照照片（2寸）电子版。护照有效期须至2027年3月1日及之后，如不符合要求请提前更换。入学报到前护照信息不可更改。
2.《内蒙古科技大学国际学生学习申请表》（附件1）
3.经公证的最高学历、学位证书（非中/英文需提供经公证的翻译件）。申请时尚未毕业的申请人，须提交本人就读学校出具的预毕业证明，且最迟须在入学前取得相应的学位证书。
4.经公证的成绩单（非中/英文需提供经公证的翻译件）。本科申请人提供高中阶段全部课程成绩单，硕士研究生申请人提供本科阶段课程成绩单，博士研究生申请人提供本科和硕士阶段课程成绩单。申请时尚未毕业的申请人提交截至现阶段的成绩单。
5.《外国人体格检查记录》（附件2），确保体检项目完整、照片贴妥并加盖骑缝章，医师及医院签字盖章齐全，体检结果有效期为6个月。
6.经公证的有效期内（申请前6个月内）无犯罪证明，非中、英文文本需提供经公证的中/英文翻译件。
7.语言能力证书。包括在有效期内HSK证书，前置学历阶段汉语授课证明，或TOEFL、IELTS、其他英语水平成绩证明。
8.学习/研究计划（中/英文书写），本科学习计划≥500 字，硕士研究计划≥1000 字，博士研究计划≥1500 字（明确研究方向、计划、创新点）。
9.本科生申请人提交中国教育部“来华留学本科入学学业水平测试（CSCA）” 成绩单，具体考试科目要求如下：
- 文科类专业：提供文科中文、数学科目成绩单；
- 理工类专业：提供理科中文、数学及物理 / 化学（二选一）科目成绩单；
- 申请人若HSK四级成绩达到210分及以上，可免考CSCA文科中文科目。
10.硕、博士研究生申请人提供两封推荐信。原则上由所申请专业领域的教授或副教授撰写，须推荐人签字并附联系电话及Email。
11.经济能力证明。需提供足以支付在华学习期间学费、住宿费及基本生活费的资金证明材料（如银行存款证明、资助人经济担保函等），确保经济来源稳定可靠。
12.发表过的学术论文或学术成果、学科竞赛获奖证书（硕士、博士研究生申请人必须提交）。
13.未满18周岁的申请人，需提交监护人保证书（附件3），监护人须为居住在中国大陆的成年人。
（三）特殊说明
申请阶段学校可根据专业需要要求补充其他证明材料，提交的材料为清晰扫描件；报到时须核验原件。
申请材料弄虚作假者，一经查实，取消其申请资格及录取资格，三年内不得申请我校国际学生项目。
各类奖学金申请者需同时满足奖学金资助方的相关规定及我校相关要求。
二、考核与录取
（一）考核原则
遵循 “公平、公正、公开、择优” 原则，结合申请人学术背景、语言能力、综合素养等进行全面评估，选拔出符合学校培养要求的优质国际学生。
（二）考核内容及方式
1.材料审核：学校对申请人提交的申请材料进行完整性、真实性审核。材料不符合要求者须补充提交，逾期未补充或材料依旧不符合要求者视为申请无效。
2.综合面试：面试采用线上方式进行，主要考察申请人的语言表达能力、跨文化沟通能力、专业能力、学术潜力及学习规划，面试时长约10—20分钟，结果通过邮件或申请系统站内信通知。
3.学术评估：结合申请人的成绩单、学业表现、语言能力测试结果及面试表现进行综合评分，择优确定拟录取名单。其中，硕士研究生须通过专业知识考核，博士研究生须通过导师组面试及学术答辩环节。
（三）录取与报到注册
1.预录取：根据综合评估结果确定预录取名单，向申请人发放预录取通知书，预录取学生需在规定时间内确认录取资格，逾期未完成视为放弃录取。
2.录取材料发放：确认录取资格后，学校通过邮件发放《录取通知书》及《外国留学人员来华签证申请表（JW201/JW202 表）》。
3.签证办理：申请人持有效普通护照、《录取通知书》、JW201/JW202 表、体检报告、学历及成绩单原件等材料，到中国驻外使（领）馆申请来华学习签证（X1 签证）。
4.报到注册及学费缴纳：新生需按《录取通知书》规定时间到校报到并缴纳学费，逾期超过两周未报到且未履行请假手续者，取消入学资格。报到时需提交所有申请材料原件供学校二次审核，审核不合格者取消入学资格。
5.学籍注册：二次审核通过后，为新生办理学籍注册手续，组织入学教育及分班安排。
Application and Admission Process for International Students
Inner Mongolia University of Science & Technology(IMUST)
I. Admission Application
IMUST releases Admission Brochure via its official websiteof the International Education and WeChat official account, which clearly specify application eligibility, procedures, assessment requirements, and timelines.
Applicants shall submit all required application materials to is@imust.edu.cn in accordance with the Admission Brochure. Each applicant may apply for only one major. The regular application deadline is June 30 annually (applicants for scholarship shall comply with relevant scholarship regulations).
i. Application Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizen holding a valid ordinary foreign passport.
2. Be physically and mentally healthy (free from infectious diseases and physical/mental impairments that affect normal study), excellent character and academic performance, friendly to China, and with no criminal record.
3. Age and academic requirements:
－Undergraduate applicants: Aged 18–25, with a high school diploma.
－Master’s applicants: Generally no older than 35, with a bachelor’s degree.
－Doctoral applicants: Generally no older than 40 (age may be relaxed for those with professional experience and academic research capacity), with a master’s degree.
4. Chinese language proficiency: Reach HSK Level 4 or higher. Applicants who do not meet the HSK requirement must enroll in a one-year Chinese language preparatory program and may start major study only after fulfilling the language standard.
ii. Required Application Materials
Copy of the personal information page of the ordinary passport and electronic 2-inch passport photo. The passport must be valid until March 1, 2027 or later. Passport information shall not be changed before registration.
Application Form for International Students of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (Attachment 1).
Notarized highest degree certificate (Notarized Chinese/English translation is required for documents in other languages). Applicants who have not graduated at the time of application shall submit a pre-graduation certificate issued by their current school, and must obtain the official degree certificate no later than the admission date.
Notarized academic transcripts (Notarized Chinese/English translation is required for documents in other languages):
－Undergraduates: Full high school transcripts.
－Master’s applicants: Undergraduate transcripts.
－Doctoral applicants: Undergraduate and master’s transcripts.
－Applicants who have not graduated at the time of application shall submit transcripts up to the most recent semester.
Foreign Physical Examination Record (Attachment 2): All examination items shall be complete, the photo shall be properly affixed and stamped with an official seal, and the signatures of the physician and stamps of hospital shall be complete. The physical examination result is valid for 6 months.
Valid notarized non-criminal record (issued within 6 months prior to application). Notarized Chinese/English translation is required for documents in other languages.
Language proficiency certificates: Valid HSK certificate, proof of Chinese-medium instruction in previous education stage, or TOEFL/IELTS scores.
Study/Research Plan (in Chinese or English):
－Undergraduate: ≥500 words
－Master’s: ≥1000 words
－Doctoral: ≥1500 words (clearly state research direction, plan, and innovations)
Undergraduate applicants shall submit the score report of the China Scholastic Competency Assessment(CSCA) organized by the Ministry of Education of China, with specific subject requirements as follows:
－Liberal arts majors: Chinese and Mathematics transcripts.
－Science/Engineering majors: Chinese, Mathematics, and and either Physics or Chemistry (choose one) transcripts.
－Applicants with an HSK score of 210 or higher are exempt from the Chinese subject of CSCA.
Master’s and doctoral applicants shall provide two letters of recommendation, written by professors or associate professors in the relevant field, with the recommender’s signature, phone number, and email address.
Proof of Financial Capacity: Documents proving sufficient funds to cover tuition, accommodation fees and basic living expenses during study in China (e.g., bank deposit certificate, sponsor’s financial guarantee letter).
Published academic papers or academic achievements, and certificates of academic competition awards (mandatory for master’s and doctoral applicants).
Applicants under the age of 18 must submit a Guardianship Guarantee Letter (Attachment 3), with the guardian being an adult resident in Chinese mainland.
iii. Special Notes
During the application stage, the university may require supplementary supporting documents based on major needs. All submitted materials shall be clear scanned copies; original documents will be verified upon registration.
Applicants who provide fraudulent materials shall have their application and admission qualifications revoked once verified, and shall be ineligible to apply for IMUST’s international student programs for three years.
Scholarship applicants must also meet the requirements of scholarship sponsors and IMUST’s additional regulations.
II. Assessment and Admission
i. Assessment Principles
Adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality, openness, and merit-based selection, conduct a comprehensive evaluation of applicants’ academic background, language proficiency, and comprehensive qualities. Admit outstanding international students who meet IMUST’s training objectives.
ii. Assessment Content and Methods
Documents Review: The university reviews the completeness and authenticity of application materials. Applicants with unqualified materials must be supplemented. Failure to supplement or unqualified materials will result in an invalid application.
Online Comprehensive Interview: 10–20 minutes per applicant, mainly assessing language expression, cross-cultural communication skills, professional competence, academic potential , and study plan. Results will be notified via email or the application portal’s internal messaging system.
Academic Assessment: A comprehensive score is given based on the applicant's academic transcripts, academic performance, language test results, and interview performance. A provisional admission list is determined by the comprehensive score.
Master’s applicants must pass the professional knowledge test.
Doctoral applicants must pass the supervisory committee interview and academic defense.
iii. Admission and Registration
Pre-admission: The university releases pre-admission list and issues pre-admission letters based on the comprehensive evaluation results. Pre-admitted students must confirm their acceptance within the specified period. Failure to confirm will be deemed a waiver of the admission spot.
Offer Letter: After confirmation, the university will send the Offer Letter and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (Form JW201/JW202) to applicants via email.
Visa Application: Applicants shall apply for Student Visa (X1 Visa) at the Chinese embassy/consulate abroad with valid passport, Offer Letter, Form JW201/JW202, etc..
Registration and Tuition Payment: New students must register and pay tuition by the deadline stated in the Offer Letter. Those who fail to register within two weeks without approved will have their enrollment qualification revoked. All original application materials will undergo secondary review upon registration. Those who fail the review will be disqualified.
Official Enrollment: After passing secondary review, the university completes enrollment procedures, organize orientation education and class placement.
